In an interview with CNN’s “New Day” morning co-host Chris Cuomo, top presidential counselor Kellyanne Conway got a little irritated when she was asked what was, given the circumstances and subject matter, an incredibly stupid question.
As reported by the Washington Examiner, the two first sparred over the issue of congressional funding for Hurricane Harvey relief efforts. But then Cuomo did what most Left-wing “mainstream” media types always do when discussing extreme weather — he changed the topic to “climate change,” asking Conway if Harvey would force President Donald J. Trump’s administration to “open up a discussion” about climate change’s role in such storms.
“I’m not going to engage in that right now because I work for a president and vice president and a country that is very focused on helping the millions of affected Texans and, God forbid, Louisianans,” she said.
That didn’t sit well with Cuomo, who shot back, “It’s a question about whether or not the administration is open. It seems the answer is no,” later berating Conway for making “it sound as if I wasn’t caring about the situation. I think the cause of this storm matters.”
No, Chris, it really doesn’t — not 48 hours after it dumped 50 inches of rain on parts of the Lone Star state. Because I guarantee you the vast majority of Texans who were affected by the storm don’t give a damn about ‘what caused it,’ and they sure aren’t thinking about “climate change.” Only a fool lib journalist sitting in a CNN studio (okay, and maybe MSNBC and even ESPN as well) thinks that subject is even relevant right now.
“Here’s the deal,” Conway shot back. “You play amateur climatologist tonight and I will play professional helper to those in need and continue my job here as counselor to the president. We’re going to look at the human factor.”
It was a classic moment, revealing once again how out of touch the Left-wing media elite is with average Americans, and how in touch the Trump administration is.
But Cuomo wasn’t the only far-Left media idiot attempting to score political points with the relatively few viewers he and his network have. Others did as well in a sick, stupid — and predictable — attempt to politicize people’s misery so they could once again push the global warming/climate change hoax.
Here is a montage of the lunacy:
As reported by Grabien, media hacks who have no scientific or meteorological education at all were essentially pooh-poohing anyone and everyone who doubts the hoax. CNN’s Jeffrey Toobin, a lawyer and legal analyst for the network, used the occasion to hammer Republicans.
“Man-made climate change is a myth, the Republican Party is united on that,” Toobin said. “You know, climate change is part of this story. We focus on the heroism, quite appropriately, of the people who are trying to save lives. But why disasters like this occur and their intensity is the part of the problem.”
“Since 1989,” MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow said, “what they call a 100-year storm — a storm that’s only supposed to happen once in 100 years — since 1989 that’s happened six times in Houston.”
No, there hasn’t been six storms in Houston since 1989 that have dumped as much rain and caused as much flooding as Harvey did, Rachel. Get a grip. (Related: UN official actually ADMITS that ‘global warming’ is a scam designed to ‘change world’s economic model.’)
Not only are their assertions factually incorrect, they are not based on scientific data that is replicable and which has proven, beyond any doubt, that their underlying theory — “global warming/climate change is real and it’s being caused by human activity” — is valid.
There just isn’t, and screaming at the top of your lungs or repeating the lie as often as possible does not make these ridiculous claims any more real.
As the Washington Free Beacon reports, a much stronger storm hit Texas — Galveston, in fact — in 1900, when there were only 8,000 vehicles in America and far fewer emissions.
Human-caused “global warming/climate change?” Only a doofus like Cuomo would think so.
